Local, Owner-Operated
You've put money into the landscaping. New sod, new beds, maybe a new fence. And now the watering is the weak link. Heads spray the fence instead of the grass. One corner drowns while another burns out. Or there's no system at all yet and you're hand-watering a yard that's too big for it. Getting the layout right the first time is cheaper than fixing it twice. Call (352) 317-2382 and we'll come look at it.
Signs You Need a Landscaper for Your Irrigation System
Some yards need a repair. Others need the system rethought. You're in the second group if the layout no longer matches the property: zones that were designed for a lawn you've since replanted, beds that get the same water as turf even though they need far less, or a system that predates the fence, the patio, and the new planting beds.
Other signs point the same direction. Repairs are stacking up on an aging system and each one costs more than the last. Piping is brittle and heads keep failing in the same zones. Water pools in the same low spot after every rain and never drains. You're installing new sod or a full landscape and there's nothing in the ground to water it. Or heads sit in the wrong places entirely after fence work, spraying wood and concrete instead of grass.
Layout matters more than most people expect. According to UF/IFAS Extension, sprinklers spaced too far apart produce a watering pattern that isn't uniform, leaving dry spots between heads no matter how long the system runs. That's a design problem, and no amount of nozzle-swapping fixes it.
DIY patches fail here for the same reason. Moving one head or adding a zone to a system that was never balanced for the current yard just shifts the problem somewhere else. Sandy North Central Florida soil drains fast and doesn't forgive gaps, so a system that's roughly right still leaves visible damage. Getting the design correct at the start is what makes everything downstream work.
Our Landscaper Services
Most projects start on paper before anything gets dug. Irrigation System Design and Layout maps zones around what your property actually needs, accounting for turf versus beds, sun and shade, available pressure, and the watering rules that apply at your address. Once the plan is right, New Irrigation System Installation puts it in the ground for new lawns, landscape renovations, and commercial properties, built so every zone gets what it's supposed to get.
Existing systems sometimes reach the end of the road. Irrigation System Replacement is the honest answer when repairs have stopped making financial sense, when piping is failing across multiple zones, or when a system is so far out of step with the current landscape that rebuilding costs less than patching. We'll tell you plainly when replacement is warranted and when it isn't. For beds, borders, and planting areas, Drip and Micro-Spray Irrigation delivers water directly to the root zone instead of throwing it into the air, which cuts evaporation and gives plants what they need without soaking everything around them.
The rest of the work is about adapting a system to a yard that changed. Sprinkler Head Relocation is one of our most common calls, usually after a new fence, patio, or planting bed left heads spraying the wrong things and dead zones where coverage used to be. And when the problem is too much water rather than too little, Yard and Landscape Drainage addresses the low spots, standing water, and soggy ground that no irrigation adjustment will ever fix on its own.
Landscaper Services for Trenton Homes and Businesses
Design work in this region has rules attached to it. Alachua County adopted its own Landscape Irrigation Design and Maintenance Standards on top of district watering rules, and per Alachua County Environmental Protection, revisions effective June 2023 limit permanently irrigated area to 50 percent of the permeable area, with new systems requiring County approval. Irrigation professionals working in the county have to register their business. The standards apply to DIY installs as much as contractor work.
Alachua County is also split between two water management districts, so a design that suits one address may sit under a different watering schedule a few miles away. Sandy soil and heat make good zoning worth more here than in heavier ground.
We design and install across Trenton, Gainesville, Newberry, Jonesville, Tioga, Archer, Alachua, Micanopy, and Hawthorne, covering Alachua County and Gilchrist County.
Planning new landscaping and not sure what the system should look like? Call (352) 317-2382 and we'll walk the property with you.
What to Expect
You call or send a request, and we come out for a free on-site inspection. On design and install work, that means looking at the property, checking available pressure, and talking through what you're planting and where. Existing systems get every zone run and tested first. You get a written, line-by-line price before anything starts, and you approve it before we dig. When the work is done, we run the system, set the schedule, and walk you through what's where and why it's laid out that way. One quote, no revisions after the fact.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need county approval to install a new irrigation system?
In Alachua County, yes. New systems, additions to existing systems, and changes that would reduce watering efficiency require County approval, and irrigation professionals working there must be registered with the County. The standards apply to homeowner installs as well as contractor work. We handle systems in both Alachua and Gilchrist counties and can walk you through what applies at your address.
Should I repair my old system or replace it?
It depends on what's failing and how often. Isolated problems are usually worth repairing. Brittle piping failing across several zones, or a layout that no longer matches the landscape, often costs more to keep patching than to rebuild. We give you an honest read either way, including when the cheaper route is the right one.
Is drip irrigation worth it with the current watering restrictions?
For beds and planting areas, often yes. The St. Johns River Water Management District allows micro-spray, micro-jet, drip, and bubbler systems to run outside the restricted landscape irrigation schedule, which gives planted areas more flexibility than turf zones have right now.
Can you move sprinkler heads after I put in a fence?
Yes, this is one of our most frequent calls. New fencing, patios, and planting beds routinely leave heads spraying the wrong surfaces and create dead zones where coverage used to reach. We reposition the heads and rebalance the affected zones so the system matches the yard as it looks now.
How long does a new system installation take?
It depends on property size, zone count, and site conditions. Smaller residential installs typically move quickly once the design is approved, while larger commercial properties take longer. We give you a timeline along with the written price before work begins so there's no guessing.

Don't Water a Yard Your System Was Never Built For
Every season on a badly laid-out system means water in the wrong places, thin turf where it matters, and a bill you can't explain. New landscaping only makes it more obvious. Getting the design right now is cheaper than tearing it up later, and cheaper than another year of repairs on a system that's past saving. Call (352) 317-2382 and we'll tell you exactly what your property needs.
